Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 50th Anniversary cover was unveiled. The cover features the beautiful Nina Agdal, Lily Aldridge, and Chrissy Teigen with a photo credit to one Mr. James Macari. He must have the most difficult job in the world. Apparently the 50th Anniversary was just too great to have just one model on the cover, so why not three? Everyone deserves a trophy these days of course.
Chrissy and Nina may be seasoned models to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, but it is Lily who is the rookie of the three. However, Lily is no stranger to being in front of the camera in her skivvies as she is the proud owner of some Victoria’s Secrets wings. Lily states with an interview with Sports Illustrated:
“We had been on the island for a few days by that point and had had so much fun together. That day we went to a smaller island where the light was beautiful, and we each took turns posing in the middle”
Like any Swimsuit issue there is much to celebrate, and these ladies should be on top of the moon. But Tiegen claims this shoot was extra special:
“It’s been many years that I’ve been doing this now and this was the first shoot where I was like, ‘This may actually have cover potential. We had this perfect water, perfect time of day, perfect light, perfect look, perfect suits, perfect everything. And with James Macari shooting, I just sensed it was going to turn out right.’”
And here are three more pictures also taken by James Macari – he has a rough job – of the lovely ladies frolicking on the beaches of the Cook Islands:
The 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 50th Anniversary issue will hit newsstands on Tuesday, February 18.
