GeekNation, the online aggregate for all things geek created by Clare Kramer and Brian Keathley, will be celebrating their second anniversary with Cozday Clothing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. In honor of this momentous occasion, the dynamic duo is launching a premiere collection of designer apparel on July 25. Check out more details after the break.
Leetal Platt, the LA-based designer behind Cozday, will be in attendance at the launch party with cosplayers such as Jenna Busch who will be sporting the new apparel. Founded in 2013, Cozday seems to be making its official debut to the public at Comic-Con this year.
There is not much to look at Cozday’s website, but they are promoting themselves as cosplay for everyday, fashion inspired by pop culture. From the pieces displayed on the site, I would wager to guess they are reflecting Slave Leia, Han Solo, and Doctor Who. It will be interesting to see what kind of other clothing inspirations they will debut at this event.
Here’s some excerpts from the official press release:
GeekNation is excited to be partnering with groundbreaking fashion label Cozday Clothing, brainchild of LA-based designer Leetal Platt, on the launch of their premiere collection of designer ready-to-wear apparel inspired by your favorite films and TV shows with an exclusive invite-only bash at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25th.
The launch, at a private lounge in the historic Gaslamp Quarter, will directly follow the SDCC preview of SHOWRUNNERS at the Horton Grand Theater and act as after-party for the film’s VIP attendees, some of whom will participate in a Q&A with filmmakers Des Doyle and Ryan Patrick McGuffey after the screening. This special preview will be the first time Kickstarter backers of the documentary get to see the completed film, which earned glowing reviews after it played at Cannes in May.
Select outfits from the collection will be on live-display by cosplay enthusiasts like GeekNation’s Jenna Busch (the founder of Legion of Leia, host of Most Craved, Writer for Geek Nation, and co-host for Cocktails With Stan, the talk show with the legendary Stan Lee) as well as other geek luminaries.
San Diego Comic-Con 2014 officially kicks off on Thursday, July 24 and ends on Sunday, July 27.
