First Look Frozen's Elsa and Kristoff in 'Once Upon a Time'

It wasn’t too long ago when ABC announced they had cast their Elsa (Georgina Haig), Anna (Elizabeth Lail), and Kristoff (Michael Scott Foster) for Once Upon a Time. With season 4 premiering on September 28, you bet they’ve been hard at work filming the show. Lucky for us, Disney has provided fans with their first look at Queen Elsa and Kristoff. Take a look at Elsa and Kristoff in the flesh after the break.

Like any good franchise, Disney is being smart by capitalizing on the phenomenon that is Frozen, by injecting them into Once Upon a Time. Now I have never seen the show – I have heard good things though – but I have seen Frozen. I’m interested as to whether ABC is including them into the as constructive narrative devices or just for the fact that they can to draw audiences in and boost ratings.

Haig and Foster’s Elsa and Kristoff look fairly close to their animated counterparts, but no one on the show has really resembled their characters quite exactly. I can bet it won’t be long until we get our first trailer to see them in action.

On a side note, there is one girl in Florida who has an uncanny resemblance to the Ice Queen herself. Her name is Anna Faith:

Sorry, had to 👑

She even has a sister who cosplays as Anna.

I love my sister! @lexiegracelove 👑❄️⛄️

She has a huge following on Instagram with almost half a million followers, unlike Haig who has less than 1,000. Faith has nearly forty thousand followers on Twitter too – three times as many as Haig. Anna Faith went on the record to say she even went in to audition for the role of Elsa, but as we can tell, she didn’t quite make the cut. Perhaps since Elsa is such a iconic figure they wanted someone with more acting experience. Elizabeth Lail who will play Anna is already fresh, with no credits to her name, so it wouldn’t be quite as easy to film with two newcomers.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for ABC’s Once Upon a Time:

This is Fairy Tale Land. It’s filled with magic, monsters and all of the characters we all know from stories growing up. It’s real, and so are the people in it. But unlike the “happily ever after” you may have heard about, their stories continued, and The Evil Queen cast a Dark Curse over the land….

This is Storybrooke. It’s a quiet, little, New England town filled with people who go about their everyday lives with no idea who they really are. The Queen’s Curse has trapped them here and placed her in near-complete control. They have no real memories and no real hope.

How do you think they look? Tell us in the comment section below. If you haven’t indulged in the show like I have, you can catch the first two seasons on Netflix Watch Instant.

The fourth season of Once Upon a Time will premiere on September 28 at 8 pm/7 pm CST on ABC.
