We’re coming up on the fifth season of The Walking Dead, and for some reason, we need to reiterate that no one is safe. Regardless, the season 5 trailer for The Walking Dead is absolutely incredible in the way that it builds up the tension for what’s to come. Things don’t look good for the group, and some fan favorites may meet their demise sooner than we’d like. Watch the trailer after the break.
No matter which way you look at it, your best course of action to avoid spoilers is to just not watch this trailer at all.
Now if you did watch the trailer above, it’s obvious that the group has been freed from their captives in Terminus and are hunting them down. My only guess is that certain characters who were not imprisoned in Terminus come to their aid. Our group is not happy in the least bit, and who could blame them? Are they pissed simply because they were captured, or perhaps something even more sinister has occurred? For starters, who was on the cutting room table?
The first half of the fourth season had a lot of fantastic energy. The mid-season finale could have been the season finale itself. Sadly thereafter, The Walking Dead kind of meandered until the final minutes of the season.
The fifth season, though, looks like it will pick back up the intensity. We haven’t seen a death within the main group in quite some time and that would definitely raise the stakes. I would hate to see that used as a plot device, but it would definitely spice things up. If it’s organic to the story, I’ll be happy.
Comic readers know that a certain character does not favor a particular weapon depicted in this trailer (we’ll discuss that in spoilers on the next page). And thankfully we were introduced to some fresh meat late in season 4 to fill the void in case that happens; or maybe they’ll exit stage left just as quickly.

Here is the official plot synopsis for Season 5 of The Walking Dead, courtesy of AMC:
Season 5 picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive.
Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them:
After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost…
Who do they become?
Developed by Frank Durabont, The Walking Dead is produced by Greg Nicotero, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, and David Alpert. The show stars Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, and many more.
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres on Sunday, October 12 at 9/8c only on AMC.
