Never in my life would I believe my eyes when I found out that Jason Biggs, the one we all know as the pie molester from American Pie, would be the voice of the leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Back in my hey day, TMNT was my go to cartoon, next to The Real Ghostbuters, Transformers, and of course 90s Nickelodeon. Revitalizing the franchise for the umpteenth time, the turtles are back in an all new CG-animated series on Nickelodeon. Continue reading
Cosplay, the quintessential element to any successful Comic-Con. For some, cosplaying can be fun. Others it is their job. And to many it is expression of who they are, an art form. It is a treat for attendees no matter how you look at it. I highly enjoyed seeing all of the cosplayers and only wish that I had half the creativity they had. After the jump check out all of the pictures I took of some of the best cosplaying I encountered during Comic-Con 2012! Continue reading
And on the last day, Stan Lee said, “Let thy rest.” After three full days of rubbing elbows with sweaty Hobbits, listening to unproportioned Batman’s growl, and seeing more slave Leia’s than Jabba’s sail barge, Sunday during Comic-Con is a day of re-cooperation. There aren’t any really big names appearing on Sunday other than BBC’s Doctor Who, FX’s Sons of Anarchy, and an overview of the 15-year history of Harry Potter. But if you’re interested in going, we’ve got the schedule for Sunday here. Continue reading
Today is a big day in film for Comic-Con 2012, bigger than Thursday and even bigger than Friday. Saturday hosts panels for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Iron Man 3, Django Unchained, and Man of Steel. There basically wouldn’t be any other reason to go to Comic-Con than this day. This day is huge. But what else can we expect to see? Take a look after the jump where you can find some big stuff from video games, television, and more! Continue reading
As my psychic abilities hone in, the above picture is in reference to what will happen during Friday’s Comic-Con panel for The Walking Dead. Sony Entertainment is in force this Friday with Total Recall, Elysium, and Looper! But AMC will fight back if TWD isn’t enough with their Breaking Bad panel. Lots of good stuff all around, check out after the jump what else is in store! Continue reading
The day of reckoning is upon us. The first day of Comic-Con 2012 is jam packed full of fun seminars, amazing panels, and of course ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Continue reading
Not only was the movie, The Last Airbender, a horrible adaptation of a great animated series, but it was a complete insult to everything that Avatar: The Last Airbender had created. With hopes of redemption, I believe that The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra will make up for M. Night Shamalamadingdong’s failure and save this once great franchise. At this year’s Comic-Con, the folks at Nickelodeon had brought the first trailer for The Legend of Korra and it was more than anyone could have dreamed of. Watch the spectacular trailer after the jump!
Illustrator and cool guy Dan Meth creates a lot of fun pop-culture pieces that reflect his quirky mind. He has been slowly developing various pop-culture graphs/charts in his spare time and his recent one had caught my eye. What if Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too needed meds, and what about that Christopher Robin fellow, he doesn’t seem all too right in his head. It’s something that’s just funny, which makes the Internets that much more entertaining! Check out more of Dan Meth’s charts and his other work as well too!
You meet a lot of strange and colorful individuals through all different kinds of animated features and shows. The genius minds over at Slate.com decided to create an amazing spectrum of color utilizing various different animated characters throughout time in honor of The Smurfs releasing this past weekend. There are so many iconic figures in this wheel that it brings way too much nostalgia that I might strike a tear. Doubtful since I removed my tear ducts in a surgery last fall. If you ever wanted to let your geek flag fly high and proud than Saturday is your day! On Satruday, the San Diego Comic-Con will house a full array of anything you could ever ask for in a convention. From discussions on the future of comics to the inspirational words of Joss Whedon, this day is your day. You can learn how to draw in one room and learn about the future of Avatar: The Legend of Korra in another. Panels will discus videogames, anime, manga, steampunk, and so much more. I’m still really really pissed I wasn’t able to get a badge for this thing.
The ever so infamous Hall H will be graced by the presence of FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA as he presents his panel on his new film TWIXT! How ridiculous is that?! Unfortunately the bigger guns like The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and Superman: Man of Steel are not making a big presence, if any, at the con, but you will be getting previews of Snow White and the Huntsmen, Dorothy of Oz, Knights of Badassdom, and Immortals. Even Kevin Smith will be in Hall H.
