The Official Trailer for ‘The Green Lantern’

This trailer has been up for a while now, a week tops, but I finally got to posting it. Sue me, I’ve been busy. But anyways, here it is. The official ‘The Green Lantern’ trailer has been released. I have it hear in HD and in English. So hah, that’s what I can give you for waiting. The trailer is courtesy of YouTube, courtesy of

This trailer makes the film look like a lot of fun while Ryan Reynolds does his thing. You gotta let Reynolds do his thing, it’s Ryan freaking Reynolds, look at those abs. The Green Lantern also stars the lovely Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Jay O. Sanders, Temuera Morrison, Taika Waititi, Jon Tenney, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins and directed by Martin Campbell (Goldeneye, Casino Royale).

The trailer has me going two of which ways. One it looks like a fun adventure flick ready to explode in my face full of goodness. The other, kinda lame and not that much in the terms of compelling or good in the story department. I mean, I’m sure it’s going to be fun, but it looks sorta goofy and not too serious as a superhero film. I think The Dark Knight has raised the bar in terms of expectations for a superhero film.

The Green Lantern, I know, doesn’t want or expects to be that, and is geared more toward the Iron Man crowd, but the trailer looks like they didn’t take the hero that seriously. I don’t know too much about Hal Jordon, but from what I’ve seen in The Justice League cartoon, Lantern was always very serious, but he was also Black too. But oh well, I’m sure it’s going to be a fun time.

Synopsis (

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

  1. Hal Jordan was white in the comics. I agree they went kind of with a goofy attitude to it, problem is that is what we have to deal with when it comes to comic book movies. Only Batman is allowed to be dark. Everything else needs a comedic element to it so they can get “younger people” interested. Frankly they are right. Seeing the trailer attached to HP the leagues of high school kids laughed at Reynolds lines. I also despised the line “I know right!” why has this become a staple mark of language in the US? Anyway besides the humor and the off putting CGI costume they looked like they stuck with the comic. That alone gets me in the seat.

    • Yeah, I know he has been white, I just recognize him more from TJL cartoon. But Ryan Reynolds will be Ryan Reynolds and girls will flock to see his abs as men envy his marriage with ScarJo. TGL should still be a hoot.
