And three more makes nineteen. For exactly one month now, this ridiculous marketing campaign from American Horror Story: Asylum has bombarded audiences with teasers every single weekday. Some have been rather intriguing, others dull, and most completely pointless. But who knows, maybe a random sewing machine or someone poking themselves with a fork is vital the to the story… Either way, three new teasers arise, “Spinning,” “Exam,” and “The Woods.” Check them out along with some great behind the scenes images after the jump.
I’m not going to lie, only one of these three teasers below are inherently interesting. This campaign has become very tiresome and if all we’re going to see in this show are girls spinning in circles, people huddled in a corners, and nuns attending raves then this show has already killed itself – well I wouldn’t be so opposed to the raving nun idea.
First teaser we’ve got for you is “Spinning.” It’s probably exactly what you could guess and has a few bits of surprise if you look closely. If you look at one of the behind the scenes images below, you might find a character in this teaser that Zachary Quinto is chatting with – at least that’s what I am assuming.
American Horror Story: Asylum has a lot going for it. For one it’s in an asylum. Two, it brings back the wacky cast of the first season, who will all play different roles. And three, James Cromwell sneers a lot. But this teaser, “Exam,” is just beyond my comprehension. I’m not going to give anything away, but please tell me your thoughts in the comment section. I dare you.
I’d really like to know how long it took them to create all of these teasers. I’d also like to know who greenlit the idea to make this many. Each teaser does have it’s own unique location besides the rave teasers and the ones with the two nuns, but the production on these can’t be cheap. Although they are less than 15 seconds each, the production value does look rather high. “The Woods” brings us back right where the title implies.
And here we finally get a closer look at the cast. No one is really looking like they are having a good time behind the scenes. But hey, at least we get our first look at bloody face! Ryan Murphy has never been one to go cheap on his shows – at least that’s what it looks like on screen – and I definitely like the look of it all. I just want it to be October already so they can stop with all these ludicrous teasers. (Click on the images to enlarge the pictures.)
