Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Gains an Official Title

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Dead Men Tell No Tales Official Title

Those who still has faith in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise can rest a little bit easier as production moves forward with an official title, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Many fans of the Disney theme park attraction may recognize the origin of the title. Keep reading for more information regarding the production.

The news broke out today from This Is Infamous, who had the chance to interview the directors of Kon-Tiki, Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, both of which have been tasked to head up the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Not much else was disclosed from this exclusive interview, but the source claims the Norwegian duo are quite enthused to begin shooting based on the screenplay thus far. Jerry Bruckheimer is still at the helm of the production team with Jeff Nathanson churning out the screenplay.

Last we heard in 2012, Johnny Depp has been confirmed to reprise his role as the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow. Production has been said to begin late this year or early next year. Word has floated around that Orlando Bloom would be interested in coming back to play Will Turner again, but nothing has been set in stone and no other actors have yet to be confirmed other than Depp.

It’s too early to determine what Dead Men Tell No Tales could possibly be about, but [SPOILER ALERT] the ending of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides left the door wide open for Penelope Cruz to return. [END SPOILER] I definitely liked the chemistry between Cruz and Depp in On Stranger Tides. It was never a question that they wouldn’t work well together, but the screenplay and direction were so horrendous that they actors had little to work with. I hope that Dead Men Tell No Tales brings us back to a more fun, fantasy adventure like Curse of the Black Pearl.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is scheduled to release July 10, 2015
