It almost seems these days that movie companies are producing either a movie based on a book or a remake. While I am getting slightly annoyed with all of the remakes and book to movie adaptations, I enjoy seeing Hercules and his story. Despite Hollywood having already released a Hercules film in the big blockbuster flop The Legend of Herculesthis rendition of the character is based on the comic book by Steve Moore. The film still follows the same storyline many have come to know based off the “mythical” character.

Deep Impact and Armageddon. Volcano and Dante’s Peak. Many are wondering how this version will compare to The Legend of Hercules. Based on this first look, the biggest difference between the two are how the main characters are portrayed. Legends you have a bizarre love triangle scenario with Kellan Lutz and in Hercules you have Dwayne Johnson who seems to portray the idea image of Hercules, kicking ass and taking names.

Action packed from the beginning, this teaser trailer offers a glimpse of stunning sets and The Rock being The Rock. The trailer while showing a lot of action and feats of strength still leaves much to the imagination and a voice over narration of Ian McShane trying to convince you this is not The Legend of Hercules. According to the comic’s publisher, Radical Comics, Hercules is a mercenary that works with six other souls and yet none are shown in the trailer. As a way to stand apart I hope that these characters make a big impact thematically.
