A hot new trailer just released for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy. The much anticipated release is expected to take the Marvel Cinematic Universe to new heights as a new band of heroes will be introduced on August 1, 2014. Can these intergalactic outlaws band together to save the galaxy? See the all new trailer complete with Rocket Raccoon crotch grab and 132 screenshots after the jump.
Are you hooked yet? The trailer, although full of new footage, feels completely unnecessary with how much excitement the first trailer created. We do get a better look at Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper); and we even get to hear Rocket and Groot speak! It wasn’t confirmed when we first heard Bradley Cooper speak in a short behind the scenes clip, but I’m sure fans have their panties in a bunch knowing that Rocket won’t have a Cockney accent.
But what’s the story about? We catch glimpses of Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Benecio Del Toro as The Collector, but what roles will they play that will have the Nova Corps desperate enough to rely on the Guardians of the Galaxy? And how does Thanos fit in it all? There are so many questions that I cannot wait to find out come August. There’s tons of great action and much mayhem to digest, and this feels like a refreshing turning point for Marvel Studios to take with how dark the MCU has gotten recently.
Here’s the official ploy synopsis, courtesy of Apple Trailers:
Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.
Alongside the previously mentioned actors, Guardians of the Galaxy also stars John C. Reilly, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, and Glenn Close.
Guardians of the Galaxy lands in theaters in 2D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D on August 1, 2014.
