66th Primetime Emmy Award Nominees Announced

66th Primetime Emmy Award Nominees Announced

Many would say that the small screen game has been stronger than its big screen counterpart, and rightfully so. With epic shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, and new shows like Orange is the New Black, Fargo, and True Detective dominating the water cooler conversations, all eyes are on this year’s 66th Primtetime Emmy Awards nominees which were announced this morning.  You can find the complete list of nominees after the break.

Mindy Kaling and Carson Daly were up at the butt crack of dawn to announce the long list of Emmy nominees. Of course, with Breaking Bad in its last season, you’d expect to see a nod for Bryan Cranston. Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn were also both nominated, as well as the show itself for Outstanding Drama Series.

There were some shows, such as Homeland, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, Veep, American Horror Story, and Game of Thrones listed among the top nominated shows, but there were also some welcomed new additions into the mix. True Detective garnered three nods, House of Cards received five, Silicon Valley earned one, Orange is the New Black and Fargo both gained six each, and the TV movie The Normal Heart found itself earning seven.
