Comic-Con 2014: The Simpsons and Family Guy Crossover 5-Minute Preview (46 Screenshots)

The Simpsons and Family Guy Crossover 5-Minute Preview

Two Fox Television Animation titans, The Simpsons and Family Guy, will come head to head in a crossover of epic proportions. South Park had their cartoon wars, but Fox would like to have their properties break donuts as the Griffins will make an appearance in the September 28 season 13 premiere of Family Guy. See five minutes of the episode and various screenshots after the break.

In just that short amount of time, there are a lot of hilarious in-jokes that are bountiful from both camps. “The Simpsons Guy” episode is a fan’s wet dreams, as we have Peter Griffin out drinking with Homer at Moe’s Tavern and Bart teaching Stewie how to prank call on his Krusty the Clown phone – they still have landlines?

All seems all hunky-dory until Homer has a little problem when Peter introduces Quahog Pawtucket Patriot Ale to the citizens of Springfield. In true Family Guy fashion, the two end up in a heated “Chicken Fight” that reaches every corner of the town.

The funniest moments are when Family Guy infuses its humor onto The Simpsons, such as the moment Homer doesn’t understand that the Griffins use flashbacks or references to elaborate stories and ideas. That scene with Bob’s Burgers and Cleveland was worth the clip alone.

And if that mash-up of properties wasn’t enough for you, during the Comic-Con panel, executive producer Steve Callaghan mentioned that he has talked with creator Seth MacFarlane in doing a Star Trek treatment similar to that of their Star Wars parody episodes.
