The latest and final trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Big Hero 6 has just arrived. The first full-length trailer introduced us to our two main characters Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter) and Baymax (Scott Adsit). Now we get to meet the rest of the hero team in action. Check out all of the fun and adventure that lies ahead as anticipation builds for what could be the best animated feature of the year.
One part WALL-E, one part The Incredibles, it would seem that Walt Disney Animation Studios continues their hot streak of replicating the Pixar formula, but doing so on their own terms. This new trailer for Big Hero 6 sets up the movie perfectly. I see a lot of heart coming from Hiro and his connection to his brother Tadashi, all of the heroes are unique with cool suits of armor – Fred, Wasabi Ginger, Honey Lemon, and GoGo Tomago – and then there is Baymax.
Although this is an adaptation from a Marvel superheroes comic, the House of Mouse has found their core emotional draw for audiences. In the comics, Baymax takes on two armored forms, “Battle Dragon” and “Action Mecha.” Of course this is a family-friendly film and Baymax’s regular form is a cute, balloon-like figure and a more toned down Action Mecha form when donning armor. But, looking past his design is Baymax’s persona. It would appear that Baymax is the glue that will bind this group together. And the way they position the character’s demeanor, he is the best kind of glue.
Now I don’t know anything about the story itself, nor have I read the script or any of the comics, but I am about to discuss theoretical spoilers. So if you don’t want to get any assumptions in your head about this movie, just skip to the image gallery and enjoy! My guess would be that this movie may have a WALL-E ending where Baymax is either temporarily destroyed or disabled and Big Hero 6 avenge him and defeat Yokai. And I think it works in the film’s favor, especially since I believe Hiro’s brother dies at the beginning and Hiro sees Baymax as his brother. This is all speculation, but that’s how I sees it
