E3 Expo 2018: SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER Gameplay Trailer Debuts During Microsoft Press Conferene

E3 Expo 2018 SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER Gameplay Trailer

It’s hard to believe that the last iteration of the critically-acclaimed reboot of Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, released only three years ago. And now, Square Enix, Eidos-Montréal, and Crystal Dynamics have delivered the worldwide premiere of the first gameplay trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider during the Microsoft E3 2018 media briefing. Check out the full trailer after the break.

Titled “Louder Than Words”, the trailer showcases the high-octane action, conflict, and challenges that will lead to Lara Croft’s defining moment. The world of Lara has evolved so much since Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Here it looks like we’ll be dealing with a lot more underwater traversal along with the potential of some camouflage tactics potentially. The detail in the level design looks like it has instrumentally increased as well with so many little details that make the Mayan world we discover with Lara seem lived in. See for yourself:

E3 attendees will have the opportunity to experience Shadow of the Tomb Raider firsthand with playable demos at the Square Enix booth and the Xbox Experience at the Microsoft Theater. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA booth will host a behind closed doors, first time playable demo of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC.

Here’s a brief plot synopsis, courtesy of Square Enix:

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.

Created by a team of veteran Tomb Raider developers at Eidos-Montréal, in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is set to hit shelves on September 14, 2018 for the Xbox One family, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC/Steam. Pre-orders are available now for the Standard, Digital Deluxe, Croft, and Ultimate Editions.
