The 2013 Summer Movie Preview

2013 Summer Movie Preview

Although June 21st is the first official day of summer, Hollywood sees differently. Because there are not enough days in the year to pack all of the explosive, sexy, fast-paced blockbusters in just one season, May has been championed as the unofficial beginnings of summer. We’ve seen some spectacular summer movie seasons before and we have had our stinkers. Starting with Iron Man 3, this summer promises to be one of the best in quite some time – I have a husband’s bulge just thinking about it. After the break, get a full taste of the movies you’ll be seeing in a theater near you this summer. Continue reading

Where’d They Come From? The 10 Most Surprising Movies of 2012

Top 10 Surprising Movies 2012

There are hundreds of movie trailers released each year, which many of the films promoted we do not get the chance to see or we brush them off because of poor marketing. But if we don’t take the risk and never open our movie palettes to embrace the unknown, how will we ever know what’s good? There were plenty of movies in 2012 that I had very low expectations for, but after sitting down and watching what were assumably stinkers, I had discovered I was completely wrong to misjudge them. The Bottom of the Barrel: Top 10 Worst Movies of 2012

Top 10 Worst Movies of 2012

As much as I enjoy the thrill of going to the movies, there comes a time when a stinker passes by that makes you truly appreciate good filmmaking. Allowing myself to give any movie a chance, I had the pleasure of seeing some of the most wretchedly deplorable flicks of last year. Check out the worst movies of 2012 after the break. Six Artists to Watch for in 2013

Six Artists to Watch for in 2013

2012 presented another interesting year for the music industry. Sales were down, but buzz and overall want/need for music is at an all time high. Electronic dance music (EDM) put its foot down on pop and a Korean became the most downloaded YouTube sensation with a flashy dance video – which is a testament to how global music can be affected by the Internet. This year is shaping up to be more of the same, maybe a guy from Luxembourg will make a video and be the new Psy – you never heard of Lux-Pop? After the break, listen to six artists could potentially have a big 2013. Continue reading

The Pick of the Litter: My Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2012

2012 was quite an interesting year at the cinema.
