Tonight is the big night for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Whether you are just tuning in or have been watching the whole night, I’ll be providing a live updated list of the awards winners just in case you missed anything. The Artist won the big ticket at the Critic’s Choice Awards earlier this week, but who have the Hollywood Foreign Press Association picked tonight? The bigger question is who will Ricky Gervais humiliate? Continue reading →
The time that has passed since the release of the infamous adaptation of William Goldman’s fantasy novel, The Princess Bride, is quite inconceivable. (At least I think so…) I was no more than seven-months old when Westley (played by Cary Elwes) sought out his true love, Buttercup (Robin Wright) from the evil clutches of Vizzini (Wallace Shawn) and then Prince Humperdink (Chris Sarandon) with the help of Fezzik (André the Giant) and Inigo Montoya (Mandy Pantinkin)
But enough with the nostalgia, Entertainment Weekly was fortunate enough to gather the surviving cast from The Princess Bride for their reunion issue that came out earlier this month. After the jump check out the cast photo of The Princess Bride almost 25-years later shot by Art Streiber.
Have you missed your favorite Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa lately? Well fear not, Wieden+Kennedy has brought him back to duel the hairlicious Italian spokesmodel Fabio to prove who is the true Old Spice guy. While Isaiah Mustafa was probably saving baby seals with a laser gun that extracts from his chest, Fabio got it in his thick hair that he should be the new Old Spice guy. (The fact that they still label Isaiah Mustafa just as “Old Spice Guy” is pretty funny and sad.) This epic duel of man candy went back and forth this week “Baño a Baño” to settle who is the true “Old Spice guy.” And as the short viral campaign closed the true victor was declared by the people! Be sure to watch the epic battle unfold after the jump to see how it all started and who was crowned victorious!
Thankfully there will be no Rebecca Black this Friday (she’s still cool to make fun of these days right?) Anyways… this Friday schedule is a bit more exciting than Thursday will be. I think one of the biggest panels this day will be for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-man. It’s been almost 5 years since we’ve last seen the infamous web-slinger and with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone at the panel it should be a good show. A lot of other smaller films will be in the line-up too, including 30 Minutes or Less, Underworld 4, Fright Night, and Ghost Rider 2. For the entire Friday schedule at the San Diego Comic-Con be sure to view it after the jump!
Today, Comic-Con revealed their Wednesday night and all day Thursday line-up. Check out the full schedule on their official site! Thursday will be a big Twilight day as their panel will overrun Hall H with many many Twihards. The 20th Century Fox panel will also be on Thursday. The coolest thing that stands out on the preview night on Wednesday is that of J.J. Abram’s new show Alcatraz. Thursday also is bringing back the Comic-Con Film School. So as stated before, check out the Wednesday Preview Night and Thursday schedule on their official site.
The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will premier live tonight on NBC from 8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel hosted again by Ricky Gervais. If you are unfortunate for some reason to not have TV, I’ll update you on the events and the winners and give you my opinion if that is anything of value. Catch the live updates when the Globes go live later after the break!
Team Unicorn, a group of lovely ladies promoting the existence of Gamer/Geek girls in the world, have come together to create a parody video of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” This is just the start of what I would assume to be an ongoing collaboration of musical numbers, skits, and fun videos expressing the love of gamer/geek girls. The core group consists of Michele Boyd (The Guild), Clare Grant (Robot Chicken), Milynn Sarley, and Rileah Vanderbilt (Hatchet).
Their big hit debut, “G33k & G4m3r Girls” also known as the “Geek and Gamer Girls Song,” was directed by David Yarvo and premiered early September. Within a week, the music video gained over one million views on Break.com. With appearances by Seth Green (husband of Clare Grant), Stan Lee, and Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff, full nerdery was in order. Check out the awesome video after the break!
What could possibly make your wardrobe more complete other than a piece of clothing from the Betty White collection? Betty White has teamed with HoodieBuddie.com to design a line of various shirts and hoodies with proceeds going to the Betty White Foundation which will donate towards the Morris Animal Foundation.
HoodieBuddie has a unique approach on hoodies as they come equipped with special earbud technology built within the hoodie to attach your mp3 player. Check out the hilarious Betty White promotional video and another video promoting the HB3 tech hoodie after the break!
