Behind the Scenes of ‘Life of Pi’

Life of Pi Behind the Scenes Ang Lee 2

It’s been three years since we last heard from Ang Lee – who then directed Taking Woodstock. Most notably, Lee has been the director behind such films as Hulk, Brokeback Mountain, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. With his thirteenth directorial release, Life of Pi is shaping upto be one of Mr. Lee’s best films yet. Take a look at some of the behind the scenes photos of Life of Pi after the break.

As one of my favorite movies of all time, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Ang Lee should be recognized as a brilliant storyteller and a visionary director. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is not just one of Lee’s best movies, but one of the best movies ever created. Despite some of his more questionable films (Woodstock and Hulk), I have a good feeling that Life of Pi will blow those out of the water.

Playing along with the industry, Ang Lee has decided to utilize 3D technology to bring Life of Pi to life. Based on what we’ve seen from Lee, adding a third dimension to his filmmaking talent should be a piece of cake. From just looking at the theatrical trailer for Life of Pi, there is no doubt that this will be one of the best visual spectacle’s of the year.

Life of Pi has only been out for a few days now and it has made back it’s budget. Earning a respectable estimated $30 million domestically, the film opened up to mostly positive reviews. (I will be seeing it later this week.)
