This weekend is pretty bleak in terms of new movies. This “weakend” of October 9, 2009 does not offer anything on your plate for a healthy dose of movies, but there are slim pickin’s. Might as well go see Zombieland again………
Couples Retreat (Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, Jon Favreau) Four couples settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional. The producers had to have planned and plotted this movie’s release perfectly because it is up against nothing except for previous releases. This film looks like it could have potential but falls short. Vince Vaughn is not my favorite and his acting runs stale, but the other actors you would think help this movie. This could be one to see if you have nothing else better to do…Rent it
Good Hair – Limited Showings (Chris Rock, Maya Angelou, Al Sharpton) Chris Rock explores the wonders of African-American hairstyles. Looks like it could be fun and exciting if you like hair that much and would love to know the history of black hair styles. The documentary is a good idea but just wouldn’t be interesting to go and sit in a theater for. Skip It
I’m sorry other than that, there really are no other movies out, Bronson, is only playing in NY/LA so that might be one to see when it comes to the Chi from the hype, but right now we’re out of luck.
Look forward to next weekend with a few more titles……hint……It’s one of the most infamous children stories of our time.
