How sad is this news. Wah Wah. Apparently there is writer conflicts within the development of the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise. Mr. Raimi does not like the latest script development and is having conflicts with Sony. You see, Sam Raimi wants the Vulture to be the main villain played by John Malkovich along with the Vulturess played by Anne Hathaway.
Now from my understanding Sony does not like this idea whatsoever, but Raimi does not want to do the film until they can reach a creative agreement.
Who would you go with and trust in a story development. A director who has been with this story from the beginning and knows his Spider-man or a production company who just wants the film to get out just to make money; that’s the way I see it anyways.
This is upsetting because I want a new Spidey film soon, but I do want it to be good. So this is good and bad……But it is now confirmed that Spider-Man 4 will be postponed and will not make its May 2011 deadline and will be replaced by Thor on that date apparently.
To fix the problem, Sony has hired on a fourth writer, Alvin Sargent, who helped write Spidey 2 & 3. Hopefully things can get worked out to where we can see a new Spider-Man film asap.
