Kick-Ass 2 Becoming as Unlikely as Sin City 2

Rumors about my favorite films tug on my heart strings hard, especially when the air is cleared. As Sin City 2 has proven, many things should be taken with a grain of salt until we find out the truth. And like Sin City 2, it appears that Kick-Ass 2 will not be happening anytime soon. Keep reading to find out why…

The highly praised comic book movie adaptation, Kick-Ass, really wet the pants of fanboys who were thirsty for more after director Matthew Vaughn said a sequel would be in the works for a 2012 release. But with all of his work for his upcoming X-Men: First Class movie, it may seem as though Kick-Ass 2 has been put on the back burners.

And although Mark Millar has started to write and draft the new sequel to the comic book, rumors have been cleared about screenwriter Jane Goldman’s involvement with continuing the project. Many speculated that she has already started to write the screenplay, but unfortunately she made a two part tweet that this is not the case:

Saw a few erroneous reports today that I’m currently writing Kick Ass 2 script – sorry if anyone’s disappointed, but not true. Currently writing for 2 other projects, then on to lovely Matthew V’s next thing (right now, looks unlikely to be KA2) when X-Men post-prod’ ends.

Just like the faithful dog waiting for his master to come home, I will wait anxiously when the time comes for Sin City 2 and Kick-Ass 2 to be made. Hope is still boiling, but its news like this that really stings.

    • It doesn’t matter if Big Daddy died or not. The sequel is being written by Mark Millar and the first issue is out or is almost ready to come out. Check that link that guides you to the first few pages of issue 1 that I wrote about.
