Twelve Years Later: ‘American Reunion’ Cast Photobooth Montage

Speaking of reunions, the original cast of American Pie are back and ready to serve another slice. Coincidentally, these pictures of the cast from the fourth film in the franchise (to make an appearance in the box office) comes twelve years after American Pie debuted back in 1999. For me, American Pie is one of the best comedies that will always fulfill my need for a chuckle. Check out the nostalgic montage after the break and be sure to catch American Reunion when it hits theaters April 6, 2012!It’s incredible to think that only 12-years ago one of the greatest teen comedies to this day was released. The funny thing is, I was only 12-years-old at the time and one could say that I was definitely way too young to be watching it.

Just like a real high school reunion, taking a look back at the actors then and now, it’s amazing how some look exactly the same while others have changed for better or for worse.

The same goes to the American Pie cast as it did for the cast of Home Improvement. Some of the actors went on to have decently successful careers like Seann William Scott (Role Models; Mr. Woodcock; The Rundown) , Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother; Buffy; Angel), and John Cho (Harold and Kumar franchise; Star Trek), while others saw mild fame like Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Jennifer Coolidge, Shannon Elizabeth, and Mena Suvari.

Unfortunately, you also have the actors who just saw no recognition afterwards such as Tara Reid, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Natasha Lyonne. And then there is Eugene Levi who just stuck with the franchise while studios ran the once beloved franchise to the ground.

It’s going to be great to get the gang back just like in the Blues Brothers. To see all of these characters come back for one more round is going to be a treat. Each actor of course knows it’s just for fun and I hope they treat it like that. And although they are here to have fun with it all, I do hope they take it somewhat serious as there has always been a certain spark of honesty and genuineness to it through all the crude humor.

The official plot synopsis via /Film:

In the comedy American Reunion, all the American Pie characters we met a little more than a decade ago are returning to East Great Falls for their high-school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship. It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler’s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.

So will you be excited to see what will happen in this next installment of the franchise or have the direct to DVD movies killed all hopes for this movie to get any praise from you? Has it been too long since the last film or has the time past given you the chance to embrace this franchise with open arms like a lost cousin you haven’t seen in ages?

American Reunion opens April 6, 2012 and is written and directed by the duo who created the Harold and Kumar franchise, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. There are also a few new comers to this installment, including Chuck Hittinger, Jay Harrington, Ali Cobrin, Dania Ramirez, and Katrina Bowden. There will also be some familiar faces not seen in the montage including Jennifer Coolidge, Shannon Elizabeth, Natasha Lyonne, Eugene Levi, John Cho, Molly Cheek, and Chris Owen.

  1. I actually am excited, and not just because it means the first American Pie may get a blu-ray release from this. I genuinely like this idea. I think it will actually feel like a real high school reunion seeing all these characters again.
