What is happiness? “It is the moment before you need more happiness,” states Don Draper. Mad Men season 6 is upon us, and when we last left Madison Avenue’s favorite anti-hero he was looking mighty cozy at a bar giving the old Don Draper charm to some potential floozy. Will Don return to form or will he become the better man? Get a sneak peak of the premiere episode of season 6 after the break.
In season 6, we’ll be heading into the ’70s, Don may be up to his old tricks, Joan (Christina Hendricks) and Peggy (Elizabeth Moss) are higher up on the totem pole, Megan’s (Jessica Pare) career is taking off, and Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) is becoming more of a shell of a human than he already was. You’ve seen the cast photos, now listen to what you can expect to see this year on Mad Men:
It sounds like Matthew Weiner has it all figured out. With entering its sixth season, does Mad Men have anything left in the tank? The fifth season was strong, but it wasn’t enough to snag a fifth consecutive Primetime Emmy for Best Drama Series. The Vietnam War is still raging on and Neil Armstrong will walk on the moon, where will the sixth season take our characters?

It’s felt like an eternity since we last walked the corridors of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. The two hour season premiere episode is entitled, “The Doorway.” What could this doorway be? Is it something Don (Jon Hamm) will theoretically or physically have to walk through? What other doors will he open this season?
Just like Mad Men, the plot synopsis for the season premiere is as vague as ever:
Don spearheads a new campaign, Roger gets some unsettling news, and Betty takes in a houseguest.
Don is going to do what Don has to do. Roger’s news could come be from a doctor, it could be about Jane, or perhaps about his daughter. Based on the image of Sally Draper (Kiernan Shipka) above, Betty’s houseguest could be Glen Bishop or maybe her brother. The anticipation is killing me.
Mad Men season 6 begins Sunday, April 7, for a two hour premiere at 9/8 pm CST.
