Bradley Cooper Confirmed to Voice Rocket Raccoon in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Bradley Cooper Voices Rocket Raccoon Gaurdians of the Galaxy

More big casting news caps off the end of September. Bradley Cooper has been confirmed to voice Rocket Raccoon in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. As production has already begun, with footage introduced at Comic-Con and D23, it would seem as though this ragtag group of space Avengers is shaping up rather nicely. Follow more of the production after the jump.

Rumors had been circulating earlier this week in regards to Cooper taking the Guardians of the Galaxy role. It’s good to see that some rumors pan out. Now that we have our Rocket Raccoon that only leaves Groot, who may or may not be voiced by Vin Diesel who doesn’t seem to give the media a straight answer on the subject.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be Cooper’s first voice acting gig. It will be interesting to see what level of depth the actor will bring to the space raccoon with a British accent and a bad attitude. Many Marvel fans will keep a watchful ear to the production since Rocket is a heavy fan favorite going into this project. As Phil in The Hangover trilogy, I believe Cooper has the cocky attitude down, but will he have the intensity in his voice when it comes to fighting intergalatic space battles?

Bradley Cooper will be joining Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and Dave Bautista as Drax on this epic adventure against The Collector played by Benecio del Toro. This group will be led by director James Gunn (SuperSlither) who is giving the Marvel Cinematic Universe a whole new tone based on the footage seen this summer.

Guardians of the Galaxy releases August 1, 2014. Thor: The Dark World releases November 8, 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier releases April 4, 2014, Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015, and Ant-Man is set for a November 6, 2015 release
