The Hobbit Martin Freeman Middle Finger

Blu-Ray Movies

White House Down – While on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, a Capitol policeman springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders.

The Armageddon to Olympus Has Fallen‘s Deep Impact. Less serious, less violent, and more goofy attack on the White House can be found within White House Down. I personally disliked many aspects of this Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx venture; especially C-Tates daughter played by Joey King. I have never seen a more precocious little tart like her. But hey, the two disc Blu-ray set comes complete with a huge line up of special features:

  • A dynamic duo: Channing Tatum & Jamie Foxx
  • Men of action: Stunt training
  • Meet the insiders: Supporting cast
  • Roland Emmerich: Upping the ante
  • Gag reel
  • The inside story: From script to the big screen
  • The Beast: Inside the Presidential limo
  • The full arsenal: Guns, grenades, tanks and choppers
  • Presidential treatment: A massive production
  • Crashing the oval office – special effects breakdown
  • Drowning the beast
  • Recreating the White House
  • VFX boundaries down
  • Lights, camera, heart-pumping action

Grown Ups 2 – After moving his family back to his hometown to be with his friends and their kids, Lenny finds out that between old bullies, new bullies, schizo bus drivers, drunk cops on skis, and 400 costumed party crashers sometimes crazy follows you.

Surprisingly, I was not blown away with how bad Grown Ups 2 could have been. I was expecting my eyes to burst in flames and my ears explode, but honestly, it could have been a lot worse. Like Jack and Jill worse. It’s a decently stupid family comedy that has more fart jokes than a family reunion with the Klumps. Nothing can top how terrible Passion or Movie 43 is, which makes Grown Ups 2 seem like The Shawshank Redemption. Special features included are:

  • Deleted scenes
  • Shaq and Dante: Police Force – a look at their silly characters
  • Blu-Ray Exclusives:
  • Look who stopped by – cameo featurette
  • The feder house – construction of the sound stage where the Feder house was built
  • Mr. Spade’s wild ride – David Spade prepares to ride in the tire down the hill

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Extended Edition 3-Disc Version) – A younger and more reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out on an “unexpected journey” to the Lonely Mountain with a spirited group of Dwarves to reclaim their stolen mountain home from a dragon named Smaug.

If you’re dying to see the extended cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey wait until it’s thrown in a bargain bin down the road. We know how the game is played. Once all three films come out there will be a trilogy box set and then a trilogy box set extended cut edition. Special features include:

  • Extended edition plus the filmmakers’ commentary
  • Includes New Zealand: home of Middle-earth
  • The appendices part 7: a long-expected journey – the chronicles of The Hobbit – part 1: experience the making of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey through a multipart chronological history of the filming, from pre-production through principal photography, including boot camp training for the main cast and the world of digital and physical effects
  • The appendices part 8: return to Middle-earth: explore the characters and backgrounds of the five families of dwarves and meet the actors chosen to play Thorin’s Company on the quest of the lonely mountain.

Lovelace – The story of Linda Lovelace, who is used and abused by the porn industry at the behest of her coercive husband, before taking control of her life.

I could only assume that this movie is as interesting as a wet fart. The only special feature included is:

  • Behind ‘Lovelace’ – A special BTS of the film

Twilight Forever: The Complete Saga – Speaking of wet farts…

For those Twihards out there, your time is now.

Mad Man Season 6

Television on Blu-Ray

Mad Men: The Complete Sixth Season – Just when you thought Mad Men ran out of gas in season 5, Matthew Weiner comes back strong and harder than ever before. Season 6 of Mad Men is very sharp and full of that fantastic Don Draper drama we all know and love. There aren’t too many special features, but the episodes alone are worth the buy:

  • Recreating An Era: The Mad Men season six art department takes viewers on a virtual tour of don and megan’s apartment, sterling cooper draper pryce’s 1st and 2nd floors, peggy’s apartment and much, much more.
  • Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out: close friends of Timothy Leary, along with journalist Don Lattin, shed light on the man known as the guru of the psychedelic drug movement.
  • Summer Of Love (Interactive Gallery): an interactive special feature celebrating the turbulent Summer Of Love.

Under the Dome: The Complete First Season – Remember when we laughed about Stephen King creating a television drama about the conflict that occurred in The Simpsons Movie? And remember how that rumor turned out to be true and the show aired on TV and no one cared? Yeah, well it’s on home video now and here are a list of the special features:

  • Deleted scenes
  • Gag reel
  • Joe’s blog
  • Stephen King and Under The Dome
  • The world of Under The Dome
  • Under The Dome: filming the pilot
  • Under The Dome: from novel to series
  • Under The Dome: the first season

Weeds: The Complete Series Collection – Still on my shame list to watch… :(

  • WEEDSCast Roundtable” – A lively cast discussion about the evolution of the series, their favorite moments on the set, and the cultural impact ofWEEDS.
  • “They Came, They Smoked, They Left” – Recurring, fan-favorite cast members talk about being a part of the iconic series.
  • “Nancy’s Sexcapades” – Cast members share what it is that makes Nancy Botwin so desirable, and why her sexual prowess was such a key element of the show.
  • “Suburban Black Widow” – Cast members offer their opinions on why many of Nancy’s lovers met an early demise.

Call of Duty Ghosts

Video Games

Call of Duty: Ghosts – This new chapter in the Call of Duty franchise features a new dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive. 10 years after a devastating mass event, America’s borders and the balance of global power have changed forever. As what’s left of the nation’s Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as “Ghosts” leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically superior global power.

For the first time, players will be the underdogs that must fight to reclaim a fallen nation. And of course what would be COD without a multiplayer? The all new create-a-soldier system allows players to change the physical appearance of their soldiers like a WWE game. The most notable feature of the create-a-soldier system is that you can play as a female character. Players will also be able to look around corners – we’re going Metal Gear Solid style now.  Another big single player feature gamers drooled over at E3 is the guard dog, Riley. Woof.
