One of the most anticipated horror movies of the summer, You’re Next, will be available, ready to enter homes on January 14, 2014 on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download. The surprise, smash hit from Adam Wingard took genre fans by storm, which has done a killer job introducing audiences to Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D). After the jump, check out all of the special features you can expect to find on the DVD/Blu-Ray release of You’re Next.

Despite the year not being quite over yet, I highly suspect that You’re Next will end up being in my top 10 of the year. The tension, the story, and all of the elements put together to create such a breath of fresh air in the horror genre excels this movie above many of the lackluster thrills expected this year. Even for non-genre fans who are squimish or dislike horror can find enjoyment from You’re Next; it is simply just a wonderful, unforeseen gem.

I’ve been waiting since it debuted at TIFF 2011 to see You’re Next and it was definitely worth the wait. The Masters of the Web horror panel at Comic-Con 2013 with writers Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett definitely energized my expectations for the film and they did not fail me.

Just in case you missed You’re Next in theaters, here is the plot synopsis:

Aubrey and Paul Davison decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary by inviting their four children and their significant others to a family reunion at their remote weekend estate. But the family reunion goes awry when their home comes under siege by a mask-wearing team of crossbow-bearing assailants. The family has no idea who’s attacking them, why they’re under attack or if the attackers are inside or outside the cavernous, creaking house. All they know for certain is that nobody is safe.

I would highly advise you to not watch the trailer and seek out this movie as hard and fast as you possibly can consume it; ; early Digital HD and Video on Demand begins December 27.
