Don’t Be Scare of the ‘Maleficent’ Teaser Trailer (28 Screesnhots)

'Maleficent' Teaser Trailer

The moment many have been waiting for, the first teaser for Walt Disney Pictures’ Maleficent has finally been released. Taking a break from all of the princess-led stories, Maleficent will focus on the villainous side of the Disney spectrum. You’ll find the trailer after the jump along with 28 screenshots.

Much of the footage we see before us was shown during this year’s D23 Expo. There isn’t really much we can work with as far as story goes, but it does a fair job at teasing the dark Maleficent. We only see glimpses of Aurora’s past, but from what I know this movie is trying to sell us on is the backstory of the fallen fairy. I think what is being shown is just for the non die-hard Disney fans to resonate that this is a Sleeping Beauty related movie

As Angie stated during the expo, this is the role of a lifetime for her. She clearly fits the part and works it in a way only Angelina Jolie can. Her delivery of her line is so cold and yet says a lot about her character and where she’s come from. The makeup looks pretty fantastic, but the visual effects surrounding the fairies and the vine forest erupting out of the ground needs a bit of work. But this is only a teaser trailer and there is still a lot of work to finish before next summer.

Here is the plot synopsis for Maleficent, courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures:

“Maleficent,” the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty,” reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.

How do you think Angelina stacks up to the infamous Maleficent?

Directed by Robert Stromberg, Disney’s Maleficent hits theaters on May 30, 2014. The film also stars Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, Sam Riley, Brenton Thwaites, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.
