Don Jon (Joseph Gordon Levitt) A New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church, develops unrealistic expectations from watching porn and works to find happiness and intimacy with his potential true love.

As one of my favorite films of 2013 (read my review), I can’t stress it enough that this movie was highly under-watched. I’m sure the subject matter had a bit to do with the amount of foot traffic that Don Jon did not receive. But I assure you that this is one of the funniest and interesting perspectives on human connection and relationships you’ll see in quite some time. As JGL’s directorial and screenwriting debut, he makes a fantastic effort here. Scarlett Johansson also does a wonderful job playing Queen Guido against Gordon-Levitt’s Don Jon.

There are a slew of great special features to be found on this disc. Since this is JGL’s first film, we get a great look at the thought process of the young filmmaker, where he’s taking HitRECord, and where we can see JGL really shine in the future. It’s the enthusiasm, the eagerness to make something great, and the vitality in Joseph Gorodn-Levitt that makes Don Jon a worthwhile time checking out. Special features included are:

Funimation has made an effort frame-by-frame to restore this classic anime for all to enjoy. All of the blemishes, tape marks, and foreign bodies have all been removed for fan’s viewing pleasure. All three audio tracks have been re-mastered for superior sound quality and the colors shown are far more vibrant than you have ever seen before.
