Lionsgate Debuts First Teaser Poster for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1’

Teaser Poster The Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 1

With Catching Fire slowly exiting theaters as the highest grossing domestic film of 2013, Lionsgate would like fans to begin thinking about The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 Redux Chapter 15 Episode 12. The studio has released the first teaser poster for the much anticipated young adult Suzanne Collins adaptation. With the events that had transpired in Catching Fire, and the introduction of this poster this early, Hunger Games fanatics will be begging for 2014 to end as Mockingjay Part 1 will be released on November 21. See the full poster after the break.

As cool as the mockingjay symbol is, set ablaze by some nice fiery Photoshop effects, my anticipation for the film is very mixed. I really liked where Francis Lawrence had taken the franchise – upgrading the cinematography, bringing more depth, and harnessing a stronger message – but the book, Mockingjay, is so terrible, in my opinion (and I know others share this train of thought as well). But if Lawrence can mastermind this story to make it his own adaptation and really fix some of the goofiness from the book than game on.

This simple teaser is nice though. Don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t say much other than the fact that our little mockingjay, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has taken her spark and lit Panem on fire. Katniss’ journey as a symbol of hope has only just begun.
