Horror movies are my jam, but unfortunately some smaller indie films slip through the cracks and I am unable to catch them on VOD or in the time they are in limited theaters. Which is why I am happy to announce Magnolia Home Enteratinment will be releasing the Mexican thriller Here Comes the Devil on Blu-Ray and DVD March 18. Written and directed by Adrián García Bogliano, this little horror has gotten much praise out of horror fans who have been able to check it out, so I cannot wait to see what the hype is all about. Find out what special features will be available after the jump.
Adrián García Bogliano has been kept under the radar with many of his smaller feature films such as The Accursed, Cold Sweat, and I’ll Never Die Alone, but you may be able to recognize his work if you caught The ABC’s of Death – now on Netflix Instant – which he was responsible for “B is for Bigfoot.” I rather like “B is for Bigfoot,” it’s fun and full of really good tension.
Possession movies have run their course just a bit, but I’m definitely willing to give Here Comes the Devil a chance based on the recommendations I have heard. Here’s what you can come to expect in the way of special features for the release of Here Comes the Devil:
- Making of Here Comes The Devil
- Behind the Visual Effect
- Theatrical Trailer
For those that may not have heard of this little indie horror can glance at the synopsis here:
A couple’s preteen son and daughter inexplicably reappear after being lost overnight on a desolate, cave-riddled mountainside. Becoming withdrawn and beginning to exhibit strange behavior, their parents quickly assume something sinister happened to them while missing and alone. But after hearing an ominous local legend, the concerned mother and father begin to realize that their children may have fallen prey to something inhuman – and that this dark, unstoppable evil has now returned home with them.
Here Comes the Devil hits Blu-ray and DVD March 18, 2014.
