Tarantino has proclaimed Big Bad Wolves the “best film of the year,” and now it’s arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on April 22. Some may have already seen the Israeli horror thriller in its limited theater release, or maybe even On Demand or via iTunes. But you can check out what special features can be found on the home video release after the break.
Written and directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Pupashado, Big Bad Wolves looks to be a very intense and hair-raising experience. Not having seen the film myself yet, the trailer has caught my attention. I definitely am a champion of foreign horrors – Ju On (Japan), Martyrs (France), I Saw the Devil (Korea), and [REC] (Spain) – so I’m curious to see what new perspective Israel can bring to the table and what the filmmakers felt going into this project.
And also, the fact that Tarantino calls this film his favorite of the year puts this movie on suspect. Sure the man has some interesting tastes in movies, but that’s a pretty bold statement to share to the world when your own films are some of the most sought after entertainment of a generation. Here’s what you can come to expect in the way of special features for the home video release of Big Bad Wolves:
- Making of Big Bad Wolves
- AXS TV: A Look at Big Bad Wolves
- Theatrical Trailer
