Watch ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Opening Battle Scene Against Future Sentinels

X-Men Days of Future Past Opening Fight Sequence

If you’re itching for the summer movie season to officially begin, this clip from X-Men: Days of Future Past is here to help you. 20th Century Fox released a very spoilerish clip of the opening battle sequence consisting of a band of mutants against future Sentinels. Check out the short preview clip after the break at your own risk.

Seen within the clip above, we catch our first glimpse at our new mutant friends in action: Bishop (Omar Sy), Blink (Fan Bingbing), Warpath (Booboo Stewart), and Sunspot (Adan Canto). There are also a few familiar faces fighting alongside them: Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat (Ellen Page), Bobby Drake aka Ice Man (Shawn Ashmore), and Piotr Rasputin aka Colossus (Daniel Cudmore). This clip definitely gives us a fun look at the action the first trailer has been hiding.

The context of the fight is not clear, but the future Sentinels look fairly threatening. The edit of the fight seems a bit rushed, which means that they are definitely hiding bits and pieces of this fight scene. Which I sure am glad because I was really nervous clicking play. I normally do not watch clips, but I just had to see this for myself. I am really anxious for Days of Future Past because I want it to be amazing, and this clip does give me a lot of hope.

I really like the teamwork displayed here, especially with the portal popping Blink. She may have one of the most unique and fun mutant abilities we’ve seen in the X-Men film franchise. Hopefully her powers come to good use as the clip cuts short. Like in the comics, things do not go very well for our mutant friends. It will be interesting to see how dark director Bryan Singer takes this sequel.

Alongside the previously mentioned actors, Days of Future Past Evan Peters, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, and Peter Dinklage.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is due in theaters on May 23.
