It’s been three years since we last saw Nathan Drake, and now we have our first look at Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Capping off the last moments of Sony’s fairly successful press conference at E3 2014, Uncharted 4 was the icing on the cake. Watch the cinematic trailer for Uncharted 4 after the break.
Not only do we get our first look at Uncharted 4, but also a full title. Could this be the end of the line for Drake? Does he belong in a museum? There’s not much to work off of visually aside from the incredible next-gen graphics and the cages full of skeletons, but the dialogue alone says a lot:
“So, what do you think?” – Drake
“It’s a lot to take in kid. Where do I even start? You’ve been out of the game for a long time or maybe I need to remind you the kind of people we’d be crossing here.” – Sully
“Sully I know the risks, but come on, it’s a sure fire plan.” – Drake
“Yeah. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in all these years, there’s no such thing as a sure fire plan.” – Sully
“I don’t really have an option here. You know that. And yeah you know maybe you’re right, I’ve been out of the game, but I need back in. So can I count on you, one last time?” – Drake
“All right kid, let’s go do it, one last time.” – Sully
Why is Drake out of options? What kind of trouble has he been caught up in this time? Did you see the ring on his finger; who is he married to? What does Sully look like after several years? He’s got to be pretty old and even less nimble than he was in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Drake’s physical appearance looks astounding. The way they graphic aged him mixed with the next-gen capabilities, it’s impressive.
