Comic-Con 2014: Batman: The Complete ’60s Television Series Fully Remastered

Batman The Complete Television Series 1960

Holy HD remastering Batman! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment revealed today that they will be unleashing all 120 episodes of the classic 1960’s television series, Batman starring Adam West, on Blu-ray this november. They will be unveiling the details and special features of its release during a special panel at Comic-Con 2014 later this month. You can watch the teaser trailer after the jump.

I was very young when this show was brought to my attention, but I have never revisited the show since. Perhaps the blatant silliness and tongue-in-cheek humor never rubbed me the right way, but it would be interesting to take a look back at the show; especially since it had 120 episode. Batman was on-air for only three years and was able to make syndication. It has taken Community almost seven.

The original Batman series has been idolized and satirized by so many pop culture references that it’s hard not to adore the show’s status in history. Heck, Nic Cage channeled Adam West’s Batman when he played Big Daddy in Kick-Ass.

From Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, here’s the specific details about the panel and the release:

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will officially unveil the details of its highly-anticipated November 2014 release of “Batman: The Complete Television Series” at a Comic-Con International panel – featuring special guests Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar – on Thursday, July 24 from 6:00-7:00pm in Hall H.

The actors behind Batman, Robin and Catwoman will give fans their first inside sneak peak at the most anticipated home entertainment release in fanboy history. All the details will be revealed, including an initial look at exclusive content, limited edition packaging, and dazzling HD remastered footage from the landmark series.

Developed by Lorenzo Semple, Jr., Batman originally aired from 1966 to 1968 and starred Adam West, Burt Ward, Alan Napier, Neil Hamilton, Yvonne Craig, Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meredith, Cesar Romero, Julie Newmar, and many more.

Batman: The Complete Television Series will release on Blu-ray this November.
