Movies on Blu-Ray
The Equalizer (Antoine Fuqua) Rated R [131 min] – A former black ops commando who faked his death for a quiet life in Boston comes out of his retirement to rescue a young girl and finds himself face to face with Russian gangsters. Starring Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Chloë Grace Moretz, and David Harbour
I wasn’t able to catch this one, but it looked pretty mediocre. I’ve heard that it has some pretty face palm worthy moments, but Denzel Washington does what he can with the material to earn himself a sequel. Special features included are:
- Two Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes
- Home Mart
- Children of the Night
- Vengeance Mode (Exclusive Blu-ray Featurette)
- Photo Gallery (Blu-ray Exclusive)
- Four Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes (Blu-ray Exclusive):
- Inside The Equalizer
- Denzel Washington: A Different Kind of Superhero
- Equalizer Vision: Antoine Fuqua
Tusk (Kevin Smith) Rated R [102 Min] – A man is captured by a maniac and tortured, physically and mentally, into becoming a walrus. Starring Genesis Rodriguez, Haley Joel Osment, and Justin Long
For what it’s worth, Kevin Smith’s Tusk is absolutely crazy and I can appreciate the absurdity of it all. However, this fairly cringe worthy movie has its charms that makes it more interesting to watch than Red State. Special features included are:
- Deleted Scenes
- Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Kevin Smith
- “20 Years to Tusk” featurette
- “The Making of Tusk” featurettes
- SModcast #259: The Walrus and The Carpenter
Television on Blu-Ray
Shameless: The Complete Fourth Season (Paul Abbott) An alcoholic man lives in a perpetual stupor while his six children with whom he lives cope as best they can. Starring William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Justin Chatwin, Shanola Hampton, Emma Kenney, Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Steve Howey, Shanola Hampton, and Cameron Monaghan.
This is hard to admit, but I have yet been able to check this show out. I’ve heard so many great things that I should be shunned out of existence. Special features included are:
- Being Gallagher (Featurette)
- Shameless Neighbors (Featurette)
- Deleted Scenes
