Netflix Streaming Report: Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Fantasia, Frank, and More

Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for January 8, 2015. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Fantasia, Frank, and more, which you can find after the jump.

Fantasia (Norman Ferguson, James Algar, and nine others) Rated G [125 mins] – A collection of animated interpretations of great works of Western classical music. Starring Leopold Stokowski, Deems Taylor, Corey Burton

A classic that I would love to rewatch again in my old age to see how different of a perspective I gain. I haven’t seen this film since I was a wee lad and would be interested to find out how it moves me now. (Watch it now)

Frank (Leonard Abrahamson) Rated R [95 min] – Frank Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank. Starring Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, and Maggie Gyllenhaal

I believe this is one of the most underrated movies of the year. Between Fassbender’s performance and the poignant tale of this bizarre experimental band, Frank has a lot more going for it than people have given it credit. (Watch it now)

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (Kenneth Branagh) Rated PG-13 [105 min] – Jack Ryan, as a young covert CIA analyst, uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack. Starring Chris Pine, Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley, and Kenneth Branagh

I didn’t catch this one, but all the more reason to now that it’s on Netflix. However, Chris Pine has recently stated that he had “deep regrets” about the film. YOLO? (Watch it now)
