There have been a few movie trailers during Super Bowl XLIX that played into the hands of football fans tonight, but none of them have hit as close to home as Ted 2. With the help of Tom Brady, this new teaser trailer is a hilarious sneak peak into Seth MacFarlane‘s sequel. Check out the expanded trailer with more footage not aired during the big game after the break.

I think we all can agree that this little teaser is far better than the entirety of MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West – my review. Let’s hope that it was only a sophomoric hiccup because the original Ted was a sweet and incredibly amusing comedy. And based on this teaser and the first trailer that released this week, I believe the same kind of sorcery will work twice – or MacFarlane made some kind of deal with the Devil because A Million Ways is an atrocity.

What’s going to make Ted 2 succeed is its grounded themes rather than social commentary about a time period. That and the fact that the chemistry between Ted and Mark Wahlberg is a match made in stoner-comedy heaven. I’m excited to revisit this bromance and find out what kind of shenanigans these two will cause this time around.

Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he’s a person in a court of law.
