Tapping the well once more, Blumhouse is laying it all out on the table in this latest trailer hoping for the next installment of the Insidious franchise to succeed. Set before the first film, Insidious: Chapter 3 plans to explore the “origins” of our favorite spirit hunters and their first case together. For the spoiler sensitive out there be warned, this new trailer features a lot of money shots and story elements that you might want to savor for your theater outing. Check it out after the jump at your own risk.
As much as I was let down by Insidious: Chapter 2, I believe there is still hope for this franchise. I like that Insidious: Chapter 3 is taking itself away from the Lambert family and inviting us into a new haunting. This will definitely clear up the cob webs and allow the series to take more chances in unexplored territories.
Of course, as we can see in the trailer, Insidious: Chapter 3 returns to The Further with our three ghost hunters as the anchors of this franchise. I enjoy Lin Shaye’s presence, who plays Elyse in the Insidious franchise – she’s become the fairy godmother of horror. I’ll be looking forward as to how her relationship with Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker (Angus Sampson) begins and how they’ll tackle this new entity threatening this family.
