Netflix Streaming Report Mad Men, Life Itself, V:H:S Viral, and More

Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for March 26, 2015. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Mad Men (Season 7 Part 1), Life Itself, V/H/S: Viral, and more, which you can find after the jump, as well as all of the titles leaving in April.

Mad Men: The Final Season – Part 1 (Matthew Weiner) The first part of season 7 begins in January 1969, several weeks after the Thanksgiving 1968 ending of season 6, and ends in July 1969, with characters dealing with the dynamics of lives and offices being split between New York and Los Angeles. Starring Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, John Slattery, and Christina Hendricks

A very solid part one of a two part final season that could have stood on its own. Mad Men: The Final Season – Part 2 begins on Sunday, April 5 only on AMC.

Life Itself (Steve James) Rated R [120 min] – The life and career of the renowned film critic and social commentator, Roger Ebert. Starring Roger Ebert, Chaz Ebert, and Gene Siskel

If you love movies and are intrigued with the behind the scenes life of famed movie critic Roger Ebert, I wholeheartedly recommend this documentary.

V/H/S: Viral (Many Directors) Rated R [82 min] – Follows fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation. Starring Many Actors

Don’t waste your time. There is one so-so short, but the rest are just trashy, unsuspenseful and bare bones compared to how creative and fun the previous two anthologies were. I wouldn’t watch this only to preserve the memory of how great they are. Watch those instead.

Bloodline (Season 1) (Glenn Kessler, Todd A. Kessler, and Daniel Zelman) Rated TV-MA [60 min] – A family of adult siblings find that their secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep of a brother returns home. Starring Norbert Leo Butz, Kyle Chandler, Jamie McShane, Ben Mendelsohn, Enrique Murciano, and Sissy Spacek

I haven’t started watching this new Netflix Original Series, but I heard it is the slowest of the slow burns. However, from what I’ve been told, the last four episodes are quite worth your patience.

Deep Blue Sea (Renny Harlin) Rated R [105 min] – Searching for a cure to Alzheimer’s disease a group of scientists on an isolated research facility become the bait as a trio of intelligent sharks fight back. Starring Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, Samuel L. Jackson, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michael Rapaport, Stellan Skarsgard, and LL Cool J

So here’s the riddle. What does an eight thousand pound mako shark with a brain the size of a flat head V8 engine and no natural predators think about?
