Main Presentations Announced for D23 Expo 2015 in New 7,500-Seat Venue

Official Panel Lineup Announced D23 Expo 2015

Since James Gunn stated Marvel Studio’s wont be attending Comic-Con this year, it leaves much to look forward at this year’s D23 Expo among its other big presentations from LucasFilm, Pixar, and Disney Animation Studios. The biennial celebration of everything Disney-owned will be invading the Anaheim Convention Center this August to showcase its biggest features in the works, including Zootopia, Finding Dory, Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book as well as previews of Marvel and LucasFilm projects. Learn more about the big presentations after the break.

Let’s face it, San Diego Comic-Con is a battleground for the likes of Marvel Studios to earn your attention against other big names such as Warner Bros. with their shared cinematic universe along with many other franchises hoping to get your butt into Hall H; if you can get in line early enough. So this fourth D23 Expo hopes to give fans a little breathing room, especially since Disney is revamping the main arena to form a new 7,500-seat venue known as “Hall D23” – Hall H in the San Diego Convention Center only houses around 6,100.

But the expo isn’t just about feature films, but also Disney Parks and Resorts among other fun insider nuggets that fans of the House of Mouse can look forward to in the coming years. When I went in 2013, it was incredibly exciting to see what’s cooking with the Imagineers for the parks and other Disney assets that were in the works.

What’s interesting about the press release is that there is no mention of anything Disney television, which includes ABC, ABC Family, Disney XD, A&E Networks, Disney Junior, ESPN, and the Disney Channel. And even then the expo only focused on ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels, and ABC’s Once Upon a Time. If I recall, most of the television presentations were in the big hall and were presented on Sunday, which the press release below does not state what is happening that day. I could only assume this is the case.

From the official press release from D23 Expo:
