Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for February 11, 2016. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Dope, Bates Motel, Hannibal Buress, and more. Also, find out what the Netflix and Chill pick of the week.
Dope (Rick Famuyiwa) Rated R [103 min] – Life changes for Malcolm, a geek who’s surviving life in a tough neighborhood, after a chance invitation to an underground party leads him and his friends into a Los Angeles adventure. Starring Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons, and Kimberly Elise
If you thought Dear Black People was uppity, but thought it could use a slightly lighter tone and could be less pretentious, then Dope is what you seek. The charismatic young cast of Dope bring a refreshingly fun take on the heavy themes of race and culture of today. It breaks stereotypes while being witty, smart, and engaging.

Bates Motel: The Complete Third Season (Anthony Cipriano) Rated TV-14 [43 min] – A modern re-imagining and prequel to the movie Psycho. This story begins with the earlier years of a teenage Norman Bates and his mother Norma who live in an old house overlooking the adjoining motel which they are renovating. The house and hotel both come with secrets of their own as does the new town which the Bates’ now call home. Starring Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, and Max Thieriot
I still haven’t seen a single episode of Bates Motel yet :( But I plan to change that sometime this year. I’ve heard it’s still a good show to watch that’s been flying under the radar. If Bates Motel can keep going longer than Hannibal than the series must be doing something right, right? Or A+E just has nothing else going for it.

NETFLIX AND CHILL PICK OF THE WEEK:
Hannibal Buress: Comedy Camisado (Lance Bangs) Rated TV-MA [1h 7min] – In a special packed with stealthy humor, Hannibal Buress tackles zipper etiquette, the legacy of steroids, and the fallout from his Bill Cosby routine. Starring Hannibal Buress
Not all Netflix and Chill picks each week have to be stinkers. Hannibal Buress is pretty funny and laughter is always a solid aphrodisiac to get you in the mood to be frisky. It’s a short hour of your time and you’ll laugh your socks, pants, and the rest of your clothes off, hopefully.
