Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for February 18, 2016. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Atonement, The Bucket List, The Returned (Season 2), and more. Also, find out what the Netflix and Chill pick of the week.
Atonement (Joe Wright) Rated R [2h 3min] – Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister’s lover of a crime he did not commit. Based on the British romance novel by Ian McEwan. Starring Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Saoirse Ronan, Brenda Blethyn, Alfie Allen, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Juno Temple
It’s been awhile since I have seen Atonement, but after recently watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and then revisiting Joe Wright’s Pride & Prejudice, I have an itch to revisit Atonement; mostly to check out the recently Oscar nominated Saoirse Ronan on one of her first performances.

The Returned “Les Revenants” (Season 2) [FRA] (Fabrice Gobert) Rated TV-MA [52min] – On returning home and finding they’re believed to be dead, a collection of near-strangers from the same village try to find a reason for their plight. Starring Anne Consigny, Clotilde Hesme, Frédéric Pierrot, Céline Sallette, Grégory Gadebois, Guillaume Gouix, Pierre Perrier, and Yara Pilartz
If the U.S. version caught your fancy, you can always look ahead at what’s possibly to come as the original French series’ second season is now available. I haven’t seen either, but the premise is inherently unique. Sort of like a reverse Leftovers.

Love – Season 1 (Paul Rust, Lesley Arfin, and Judd Apatow) – Rebellious Mickey and good-natured Gus navigate the thrills and agonies of modern relationships in this bod new comedy co-created by Judd Apatow. Staring Paul Rust, Gillian Jacobs, Claudia O’Doherty, Brett Gelman, and Dave Allen
Keep in mind that the latest Judd Apatow venture will be releasing TOMORROW! Love looks familiar, but knowing Apatow and his eye for content, it will be refreshingly different and honest.
(Watch it on Friday)
NETFLIX AND CHILL PICK OF THE WEEK:
The Bucket List (Rob Reiner) Rated PG-13 [1h 37min] – Two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. Starring Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, Sean Hayes, and Beverly Todd
The director of This is Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally… brings together two Oscar winning titans to act against one another in a heartwarming pile of poo that will have you turning off your TV faster than you can say “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” giving you the ripe opportunity to suck face and chill.
