Whopper Freakout wins Effie

Due to their outrageous campaign to boost sales with the Whopper, this campaign has won the Effie for the restaurant category. What is an Effie – The Effie Awards were founded in 1968 by the American Marketing Association, New York Chapter, as an awards program to recognize the most effective advertising efforts in the United States each year (effie.org). Beauty is in the Eye of the Ad Industry

A great article has come across my mitts about the strange advertising campaigns at Unilever. To those not within the advertising game, Unilever creates products such as Dove Soap and Axe. One brand tells women to believe in themselves and feel beautiful, while on the other end of the spectrum we have a brand who sells products to 13 year old boys, telling them to try and attract women with their sex appeal. Silly silly ad industry.
