Netflix Streaming Report: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2, Fuller House, Good Burger, and More

Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for March 3, 2016. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2, Fuller House, Good Burger, Adult Beginners, and more. Also, find out what the Netflix and Chill pick of the week is.

Crouching Tiger Sword of Destiny

Source: Decider

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (Woo-Ping Yuen) Rated PG-13 [1h 36min] – A story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption. Starring Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh, Harry Shum Jr., Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jason Scott Lee, and Eugenia Yuan

Behold! Crouching Tiger, Hidden Drag: Sword of Destiny is one of the most unnecessary and terrible sequels you will ever happen upon in our lifetime. At least Dumb and Dumberer provided a few good laughs and some character building. It’s as if Sword of Destiny was made through the unfortunate happenstance that someone who had never seen the original Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was told the premise and was told to run wild for a sequel. This film neither matches the quality nor the storytelling finesse that Ang Lee was able to accomplish in the original.

Fuller House

Source: Mashable

Fuller House (Jeff Franklin) Rated TV-G [30min] – In a continuation of Full House, D.J. Fuller is a mother of three young boys and is a recent widow. D.J.’s sister Stephanie, her best friend Kimmy and Kimmy’s teenage daughter all move in to help her raise her sons. The house is now a lot fuller! Starring Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Michael Campion, Elias Harger, Soni Bringas, Dashiell Messitt, and Fox Messitt

Is it wrong for me to have not seen a single episode of Full House having grown up in the ’90s? I haven’t bothered watching Fuller House since I would be lost on context, and this series seems beholden to the nostalgia of the series’ characters. I’ve only heard bad things though.

Adult Beginners Movie

Adult Beginners (Ross Katz) Rated R [1h 32min] – A young, narcissistic entrepreneur crashes and burns on the eve of his company’s big launch. With his entire life in total disarray, he leaves Manhattan to move in with his estranged pregnant sister, brother-in-law and 3-year-old nephew in the suburbs – only to become their nanny. Starring Nick Kroll, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Joe McHale

I haven’t had a chance to watch this movie, but the cast is pretty solid. Netflix suggests I would find it mildly entertaining.

Before We Go Chris Evans Alice Eve

Before We Go (Chris Evans) Rated PG-13 [1h 35min] – Two strangers stuck in Manhattan for the night grow into each other’s most trusted confidants when an evening of unexpected adventure forces them to confront their fears and take control of their lives. Starring Chris Evans, Alice Eve, and Emma Fitzpatrick

Another movie on the pile of things I need to check out. This is Chris Evans’ directorial debut. Captain America himself has directed a movie. That should be interesting to see how that pans out, right?

Good Burger Movie

Source: Tumblr

Good Burger (Brian Robbin) Rated PG [1h 43min] – Two dim-witted teenagers are forced to save the fast food restaurant they work at from going out of business, despite a new-and-improved burger joint opening across the street that want to be the “Top Dog” in the fast food industry. Starring Kel Mitchell, Kenan Thompson, and Sinbad

I’m a dude! He’s a dude! She’s a dude! We’re all dudes, hey!

Netflix and Chill Pick of the Week:

Must Love Dogs Movie

Must Love Dogs (Gary David Goldberg) Rated PG-13 [1h 38min] – A forty-something preschool teacher looks to the personals for a change of pace and a relationship, with hilarious results. Starring Diane Lane, John Cusack, and Elizabeth Perkins

So you want to sit down and check out a nice, tender romance movie with your S/O. In the world of Tinder, the dating world has progressed so fast that Must Love Dogs seems overly dated. At least When Harry Met Sally… and other Nora Ephron classics have likeable characters that make you champion the budding relationships within. This movie is just subpar, and it will have you chilling in no time when you discover how “meh” it all is.
