I love these damn anthropormorphic hamsters that it just drives me insane. Perhaps it’s because these commercials are just so awesome or maybe it’s because my mother told me when I was seven that my pet hamster “ran away” and I envision he turned into a break dancing brand mascot? When I first saw this fluffy little guys in the first Kia Soul advertisement, I thought it was pretty genius and creatively intuitive; “A New Way to Roll.” The marketing was simplistic and brought you in with humor while staying true to what you are selling instead of relying on just a gag. The new Kia Soul hamster commercial is just priceless. Not only are the Hamsters portrayed with more human attributes, but they are rapping and pure gangster. Now I’m not too sure if the persona of the hamsters being rappers were the right move, unless that was the demographic they were looking for. I would think they just came upon the song and went from there. Either way it’s a hilariously creative commercial with still the same charm, but just more in your face.
