Sundance 2014: Watch Dove’s Short Film ‘Seflie’; Redefining Beauty Through Social Media

Sundance 2014 Watch Dove's Short Film Seflie

Dove has once again made us believe in ourselves with the 2014 Sundance Film Festival debut of their 7-minute short film, Selfie. This new PSA documentary asks women to see the positive value social media has in shaping the way our culture perceives beauty, rather than being afraid of it. A tip of the hat goes to Dove, they have truly become the face of positive reinforcement for women in a time when we are bombarded by Photoshopped models daily. Not only has it debuted at Sundance, but Dove has also released it online for the public to view. Watch Selfie, in full, after the break. Continue reading

People Are Diggin’ ‘Buried’

Ryan Reynolds’ new film, Buried, is getting so much hype from this years Sundance Film Festival. Buried‘s only star and actor is Ryan Reynolds; there are other people in the film, but more like voice actors. The film is a Rodrigo Cortés directed film written by Chris Spelling; a bit of unknown talent as far as the film industry goes. Paul (Reynolds) is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

After the official screening at Sundance, critics at Firstshowing.net and /Film.com have been praising this film. There has been so much praise, in fact that Lionsgate have picked up the film for distribution; hopefully for a very soon release date. I am pretty excited to see this film since Reynolds is my favorite actor. This film seems like a little gem that breaks away from the norm and is pretty ballsy and new. I like it. I can’t wait to see this film
