Movie Theater Unwritten Code of Conduct

When it comes to going to the movies, I am very skeptical about the atmosphere that I am going to be surrounded by when I enter the theater. There are so many different factors that you need to consider when going to see a movie these days unfortunately. From cellphones, children, and talking, there are many things that you must consider about avoiding and keeping in mind when you travel to a movie theater. Check out BBC Radio’s 5Live graphic chart on desirable movie theater code of conduct that you should abide by after the jump.

I have to think of what time to go based on whether I want to deal with noisy teenagers or not or just the fact that I would want to spend less money and go to a matinee. Do I want to go to midnight showings knowing there are die-hard fans of a franchise that could be completely rowdy? Cell phones are my major concern. I hate light pollution during my movies because it is just completely distracting and takes away from the film’s attention. And then there is seat placement. I am all about sitting near the top and directly in the center, but sometimes you don’t get what you want, or sometimes there are people near your favorite section who might talk or bother you during the movie.

Follow these guidelines and spread the word so hopefully one day all will abide by these rules!
