Only months after the box office success of Marvel Studios’ The Avengers, it’s now time to get back into the groove of things and begin “Phase 2” with Iron Man 3. You didn’t think Disney was going to give audiences room to breathe with this cash cow on an all time high did you? With Iron Man 3 most likely in post production, a trailer for the teaser trailer, which will release tomorrow, October 23, has been unleashed along with the first official teaser poster!

My old self would have jumped at the chance to eat this footage up, but these days I’ll wait until I get the full thing tomorrow – yes I will begin to slowly start watching trailers again, maybe. It seems to be a growing trend in Hollywood these days to release trailers for trailers to hype up anticipation – much like how J.J. Abrams released the first three frames of Star Trek Into the Darkness.

I have not seen this footage, but I know a lot of people out there love watching anything they can set their eyes on and dissecting every moment frame by frame. So I present to you this short 17-second teaser for the teaser trailer of Iron Man 3, enjoy:

There was big praise for Iron Man 3 coming out ofComic-Con 2012 this past summer – most notably for Ben Kingsley’s appearance in fullMandarin (one of Tony Stark’s worst enemies) gear. I’m definitely excited to see what Kingsley has in-store for that role and how Shane Black will take the direction of the Marvel Universe after Joss Whedon shook the world with The Avengers.

Iron Man 3’s plot is fairly vague thus far, but speculation points to the “Armor Wars,” a seven-issue story arc within the Iron Manmythology which finds our hero up against those who have uncovered the secret to his beloved tech.

I wish we would get to see Tony Stark spiral into madness with the “Demon in a Bottle” arc, but I don’t think the House of Mouse wants Marvel Studios to go that dark while they’re in charge. I think the most we’ll get out of that plot line is Tony Stark’s drunken tirade in Iron Man 2during his birthday celebration.

But if you’d like to get a very, very vague plot synopsis of what you can expect from Iron Man 3, be my guest on deciphering what this will lead to:

Tony Stark/Iron Man finds his world reduced to rubble by a malevolent enemy and must use his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him as he seeks to destroy the enemy and his cohorts.

This looks more like concept art than a poster, but it’ll do for now. It definitely looks like Tony has created himself a suit of armor that may be a bit unlike anything we have seen before. Now that the world has seen what Iron Man is capable of, does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
