It’s been a while since we’ve had the Apatow bunch back in action together again. And thanks to James Franco and Seth Rogen, these two fine gentlemen have been kind enough to release a quick teaser for their movie, This Is The End, just in case the Mayans were right. This red band teaser trailer for the star-studded comedy has moments of extreme moments of hilarity that spoiler purists may want to avoid. It is also highly NSFW. You have been warned. Check out the trailer after the jump.
When I first heard about this meta, apocalyptic comedy, I couldn’t believe my eyes. A movie where all of the actors portray themselves? Actors which include Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Rihanna, Paul Rudd, and more. How could this be possible? In fact, This Is The End is based on the 2007 short-film, Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse, that Seth Rogen and buddy Evan Goldberg (50/50; Pineapple Express; Superbad) co-wrote together and directed by Jason Stone.
In the teaser below, Franco and Rogen introduce us to their film, which comes out during the summer of 2013. What we see here is a short introduction of the gang finding Danny McBride eating all of their survival food in James Franco’s boarded up house. Apparently, unaware of the events that have taken place, McBride and ourselves are given a run down of the events that had transpired before the apocalypse hit. Watch the teaser:
Aside from the hilarity that ensues during McBrides monologue, we get a quick glimpses of scenes from the movie which show Emma Watson with an axe, people being beamed up by blue light, a giant sink hole, and some serious chaos. If This Is The End can live up to the promise that this one clip has delivered, I guarantee this will be one of the funniest movies of next year. That is if we make it to next year.
