It all ends. Whether you love or hate the franchise, The Hangover Part III is coming fast and hard this summer movie season. The Wolfpack is back for one last round, but this time the formula has changed and the shenanigans are being brought back to Las Vegas. See the full teaser trailer after the break, along with 57 screenshots.

Typically, some or even most teaser trailers are revealed up to a year before the release, but not The Hangover Part III. It feels quite odd to have a teaser trailer delivered less than three months away from a film’s release. Could it be that Warner Bros. has enough faith in the franchise for the name to market itself?

Many audiences have complained about how similar the sequel is to the first movie. But if you watch the teaser trailer below, you’ll see that there will be no blackout nor any mystery Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) must solve. I only hope Vegas has learned to Alan proof their establishments.

It looks like it could be sorta fun, there isn’t enough to judge based on what little we can gather. Along with The Wolfpack, we will also see some familiar faces by the likes of Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, and Justin Bartha. And then there is some new blood, which includes John Goodman who plays the villain and Melissa McCarthy.

American Pie 2 and Scream both copied the same formula that made the first film a success. And even though those movies were perfectly capable, the same groans of unoriginality still lingered. When the third movie in their respective franchises released, even more fans disliked what had been done. There needs to be a comfortable middle with these films and I hope The Hangover Part III has found it.

This is a decent trailer. Nothing too special, but just enough to gain the over all feel of the movie. It’s tough for comedies to not showcase all of the good jokes in the trailers, and this teaser does a fine job at keeping it fairly tame. I wish it didn’t open the way it did though; I think that would have been a great surprise for the movie.

The Hangover Part III is directed by Todd Phillips yet again and is set to release in theaters this summer on May 24.
