Mad Men Season 6 Episode 3, ‘Collaborators,’ Sneak Preview

Sneak Peak at Mad Men Season 6 Episode 3, 'Collaborators'

Another Sunday, another episode of Mad Men. The season 6 premiere of the most critically acclaimed drama started off with a bang putting heavy emphasis on Don and Roger. This week’s episode, “Collaborators,” sets its sights on Peggy, Pete, and again Don. Get a sneak peak at this weekend’s episode after the jump.

The marketing team behind Mad Men are the connoisseurs of tease TV. After each episode, the previews are more vague than Don’s allegiance to his marriage with Megan (Jessica Pare). For a brief 30 seconds we are given lines of dialogue that are responses to questions with absolutely no context. The worst part of it all is that it’s so enthralling we have to know what they are talking about.

(It’s safe to assume spoilers for last week’s episode ahead)

Mad Men E603 Collaborators Peggy Olson

Last week, Don (Jon Hamm) had a moment of clarity and our characters felt the weight of life and death as they headed into the new year. The pre-season promos had a grand play on words with “The affair of the year,” meaning the show would return, but where we left off, we were uncertain if Don would go back to his cheating ways or not. Knowing that he has, could his new affair be more controversial than his previous ones?

Setting aside the vague promo, the official synopsis for “Collaborators” goes something like this:

Don clashes with a client. Pete entertains a guest. Peggy struggles to motivate the staff.

We saw Peggy last week slightly struggling in her position with this new agency and it would appear the writers would like to explore more of her plight. Will Peggy be able to find the strength to make it on her own without Don or go back to SCDP and continue to work under his shadow?

Mad Men E603 Collaborators Don Draper

We also saw Don and Megan in Hawaii being pampered by his client, Sheraton Hotels. When Don returned, the hotel chain wasn’t too happy with the campaign he developed and asked for something more. Can Don find his creative edge to please the client, or is he butting heads with someone else?

After his big arc in season 5, Pete (Vincent Kartheiser) wasn’t given too much screen time during the premiere last week. From what the plot suggests, we may see a little more fallout from last year’s turn for Pete, but who will be his guest?

Mad Men season 6 episode 3, “Collaborators,” debuts tonight at 10/9 pm CST only on AMC.
